With so much in the news about the new coronavirus, I wanted to let you know the safety precautions I’m taking around upcoming Best of the Northwest workshops. As a temporary measure, all participants for the 2022 Best of the Northwest Workshops will need to be vaccinated to participate.
I will be keeping track of the situation and closely following recommendations from healthcare professionals, and then decide about the viability of each workshop as they approach. I’ll inform participants at least 60 days before the start of a workshop to let you know if we are going to proceed or cancel.
You will have the following options:
- Have the deposit and payment held to be applied to a future workshop. If you choose this option, you will have a two-day advance notice of my 2022 Best of the Northwest Photography workshops. You may apply your payment and deposit to a 2022 workshop.
- Apply your deposit towards any of the following: purchasing metal prints from my online gallery of images, purchasing my Flower e-book, having online one-on-one critiques with me.
- Have your deposit transferred to a future workshop (this may not be possible for 2023).
Your safety is the most important thing to me, so if you are more comfortable cancelling your reserved spot now for any upcoming workshops you are welcome to email me at any time. Just a note that if you do cancel and the workshop goes ahead, you will lose your spot for that trip.
Other Upcoming Workshops
For other workshops I am conducting with partners, you will need to check with the Cascade Center of Photography or the Pacific Northwest Art School for their status.
Please feel free to email me with any questions or concerns. Stay safe and I look forward to seeing you in the future.
“Best of the Northwest Workshop” Rules Attending a Photography workshop under CV-19
As a temporary measure you must be vaccinated for all 2022 Best of the Northwest Workshops.
Check your temperature before attending and if your temperature is above normal, please do not attend the workshop (your deposit and payment will be forwarded to another workshop for the health of all).
If you are not feeling well and are experiencing symptoms such as a fever, cough, or shortness of breath, stay home (your deposit and payment will be forwarded to another workshop for the health of all).
If you are currently CV positive, please stay home and quarantine (your deposit and payment will be forwarded to another workshop for the health of all).
If you have tested CV positive, you may attend if you have officially recovered.
Wash your hands, wash your hands, wash your hands. I will bring masks and hand sanitizer to the workshop as a backup.
Masks are required during all indoor sessions. If you received the vaccine, you still must wear a mask, since you can still spread the virus. Please be respectful of others during the workshop. Here is a link for a quality mask: fstopgear.com/products/masks/dyota-mask
No sharing of equipment, please email your images for the group session one-half hour before the presentation time. Images emailed after that time will be shown another day if possible.
Drives to and from shooting locations will be made in separate vehicles. You may choose to carpool if you are all vaccinated, but it is still advised that you wear a mask in the vehicle.
If you need assistance in the field, ask your question and turn on your LCD screen, then step away. We will try to assist you as best as possible without touching your camera.
Please keep a respectful distance of 6 feet (1.8 meters) in the field.
There will be no group breakfast or dinner, you are on your own for food. I suggest you bring your own for many of the meals.
Restrooms may be limited or closed, so bring your own water and hand sanitizer.
These guidelines are intended to keep us all safe as we continue to enjoy photography outdoors and each other’s company during these workshops. Hopefully, these guidelines will be brief, and that the vaccine will bring us back to normal soon.
